How to print with Stained

Everything you need to know before you submit a fabric print job.

Preparing your artwork

Supply print-ready artwork at the correct scale and resolution. For large fabric printing, higher resolution is better, low-res files may look soft or pixelated once printed at size. We accept JPG, PNG, PDF, TIFF, AI, EPS and PSD.

How repeats work

If your design tiles across the fabric, tell us the repeat size (in mm) and we'll step-and-repeat it across the roll. When you submit a tile image, you'll see a live preview of how it repeats before you approve.

Fabrics & widths

We print on a wide range of fabrics, each with its own width. Pick the fabric and width that suit your product, or ask us if you're unsure. Custom fabrics are available on request, and you can supply your own fabric.

How pricing works

Pricing is based on the metres you order at the rate for your chosen fabric (minimum 1 metre per fabric). You see the exact total at checkout, including any rush fee and delivery. We're not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

Turnaround

Turnaround is estimated from when your artwork is approved, not from submission. Lead times depend on the fabric, quantity and current production load, get in touch for current times, and tell us if you need a rush.

After you upload

You check everything on the review screen and place the order: that's your approval, and the order is then locked. You pay at checkout (or on your account terms) and the job moves into production. You can follow its status the whole way from your account, and you'll get updates as it progresses. Need a change? Send us a change request from the job and we'll update it and let you know.

Payment

Your invoice is created when you order and is under My documents. Pay online, or by EFT using the invoice number as the reference. Production starts once payment has reflected, or as agreed on your account terms.

Colour variation

Printed colour can differ from your screen and may vary slightly between runs and fabrics. Add colour notes and we'll work to them; for colour-critical work, ask for a test print first.

What you approve

You approve your artwork when you place the order: we print it as supplied, so please check it carefully. Placing the order is your sign-off. After that the order is locked; if something needs changing, send us a change request from the job and we'll update it.
