Terms & Production Policy
These terms govern fabric printing work undertaken by Stained Textiles. By submitting a job you agree to them.
1. Artwork & print-ready files
Clients are responsible for supplying artwork in a print-ready format at the correct scale and resolution. We check every file before printing and will flag issues, but we are not responsible for errors present in supplied artwork (spelling, layout, low resolution, incorrect repeat, or colour build).
Files that are not print-ready may require setup work, which can affect turnaround and may carry a setup fee, communicated before work proceeds.
AI-generated artwork. Images made with AI tools often have low resolution, blurry or warped details, and garbled text or shapes that only become visible when printed at size. AI-generated artwork is printed as supplied, and we are not responsible for these flaws or for a reprint because of them. If you want us to look at a file first, tick “Please check my artwork” when ordering.
2. Proofs & approval
Where a proof is provided, production follows the approved proof. Once you approve a proof, that approval is recorded against your order and printing proceeds to that standard. Please review proofs carefully, approving locks the artwork for production.
3. Colour variation
Printed colour can differ from what appears on a screen, and may vary slightly between runs, fabrics and batches. We work to any colour notes supplied and can proof on request, but minor colour variation is a normal characteristic of fabric printing and is not grounds for a reprint at our cost.
4. Fabric, shrinkage & testing
Fabrics behave differently and some shrink, stretch or change hand after printing and finishing. Where fabric performance is critical, we recommend a test print first. We are not liable for fabric behaviour inherent to the material, or for client-supplied fabric that is unsuitable for printing.
5. Quantities & minimums
Minimum order quantities and pricing depend on fabric, method and run length. Current minimums and pricing are confirmed at quoting. Printed quantities may vary marginally from the ordered metreage in line with standard production tolerances.
6. Deadlines & turnaround
Turnaround is estimated from the point artwork is approved, not from submission. Quoted lead times are estimates and may be affected by artwork delays, fabric availability and production load. Rush jobs may be accommodated subject to capacity and a rush fee.
7. Rejected or problematic artwork
A job cannot enter production until its artwork is approved. If artwork cannot be made print-ready, or required information is missing, the job is held until resolved. Repeated changes after approval may incur additional setup time.
8. Reprints & refunds
We don't issue refunds. If a print fault is our fault (for example a defect against the approved artwork or proof) we reprint at our cost. On our own fabric we reprint on our fabric; on supplier or client-supplied fabric the replacement fabric must be supplied. Report faults within 7 days of collection or delivery, before cutting or sewing. See Reprints & refunds.
9. Payment
Orders are paid at checkout (online, or by EFT using the invoice number as reference) unless your account has agreed terms. We don't start production until payment has reflected in our account, or as agreed on your account terms. Ownership of printed goods remains with Stained Textiles until payment is received in full. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
10. Delivery & collection
Orders are collected or delivered as selected at submission. For deliveries we arrange courier and provide tracking. Risk passes on collection or on hand-over to the courier. Delivery timeframes are estimates provided by the courier.
11. Liability
Our liability for any job is limited to the value of the printing work for that job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
